What Will You Gain When You Lose?
What will you gain when you lose self-doubt, hesitation, and begin to believe in your abilities to be more? For Cindy Wanvig, it meant the difference between getting a 9-to-5 J-O-B and getting her direct sales business to the point of covering monthly expenses.
Cindy’s story came to light in January 2013 when I met her at a lunch and learn on “Put Your Dream to the Test.” Cindy liked the information and wanted to learn more about what I offered. We set an intake session for a week later. That is when I learned the details of her situation. She was frustrated, overwhelmed, her husband did not support her business because she was not making any money, she felt that she was being forced into a job that she did not want, and that she did not know how to get out of the state that was holding her back.
After the initial sharing of her troubles, we discussed why she wanted to run her own business, what she was doing for it, how she felt about it, and what she felt was holding her back. Cindy began to answer questions that had not been asked and began to admit things that she had not shared to anybody else. She began to think about what she wanted, why she wanted it, and what she needed to do towards her goals.
In March, not only did she join a 10-week mastermind group on The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, but, she invited two people within her organization. Throughout the 10-weeks, she shared her experiences, what she committed to do to grow her business, and what was holding her back. Sharing all of this with a group showed what she was willing to do to grow. And, grow, she did.
By the end of May, I met one-on-one with Cindy to get an update on how she felt and what she was further doing. She was excited to share a goal she had set within the direct sales company. I asked her if she going to reach that goal. She smiled, thought about it for a few seconds, and then with confidence she affirmatively answers, “Yes.” I then asked what she needed to accomplish to reach the goal, where she was thus far, and what she needed to do over the next month to achieve it. She used what she had learned throughout the coaching and mastermind group to organize and had a plan. One thing that simply amazed me was that her husband, who had not previously support her business, had become her accountability partner. What a huge leap!
By the end of June, she had proudly reached multiple goals that she had set for herself. Because of it, in July, she walked the stage with the company, as she was recognized for the accomplishments that she had reached simply by losing the fear, self-doubt, hesitation, and began to believe in herself.
What a thrill for me to receive a text from her stating, “I owe you for getting me going and on my feet. Still not very far, but you gave me such a GREAT start and better understating of what I need and how to keep going… all because of you!”
