My Success in 4D Started Here!

Have you ever got to experience a 4D show at Disney? It’s more than just a ride…it’s and experience. They have sharp scents put into the air when appropriate, the seats move or shake in some cases and its set up to be an experience.

ShariThat’s how the JMT mentorship has been. An awesome experience!

One of my dreams when I started my business was to host my own 3 day event. Why 3 days? Because 1 and 2 day events are done all the time and the 3 day events that I attended in the past…were not just events, but an experience!

The first step was to set a date. Nothing seems to get done until we set a date. People are engaged forever, until they set a date. Diets are always an intention, until we commit to a date, and it’s the same as an entrepreneur. Once I set the date, the work started.

This is where the JMT mentorship was invaluable. The biggest To-Dos were:
1) Filling the Room
2) Content that was valuable
3) Keep the Vision

Achieving all three would bring everything else into focus and the event would get executed. Filling the room, since I chose a city that was a 4 hour drive from me and my following there was limited, would take finding someone who could speak, inspire, and be willing to take that responsibility on. Where would I find this person?

The John Maxwell Team. Dave Ferguson, Ask Coach Dave, who has been in the business for 10 years, stepped up! He was able to take on the responsibility of filling the room and was able to present information that was relative to the group and congruent with the mission of the 3 day event.

Content was not difficult. When you start with what you want the end result to be of the event, you reverse process the event and fill with content. Between my own content, Dave’s content, and the programs we are certified to teach with JMT, I was not at a loss. It was more of a challenge to narrow it down. As another mentor says to me “…if you squeeze too much in, you squeeze the audience out.”

Keep the vision was actually one of the toughest. Why? Because it’s easy to ask yourself all the negative questions like “Why am I doing this?” “Who is going to show up for this?” “Who am I to put on a 3 day event?” and I could go on. Listening to mentorship calls from the mentorship leadership and my fellow JMT’ers pulled me through.

One of the biggest supporters was somebody that actually set the tone for the weekend at the event. It was Chris Robinson of R3 Coaching. He offered his support, his time, and his belief! He delivered a 60 minute keynote the first day that went beyond my expectations and I will be forever thankful! Where did I meet him? The John Maxwell Team.

My question for you is, “What is something you have been dreaming about doing in your business?” Define it, Decide it, Design It, and then Do It! Your 4D Goal is waiting!

I joined the JMT and I’m looking forward to growing so I can help other people. I just want to know how do you balance it life & business when you are going through test and trials. Thank you
