Alexander Villa – Austin, TX

Alex Villa is the Chief Operating Officer for the American Red Cross serving Central and South Texas.  He oversees all operating procedures for a 80-county region serving a population of 6.6 million individuals.

Alex concentrates on bringing efficiency to the sphere of humanitarian work, and with over 10 years experience in the nonprofit world, Alex has developed a reputation for exceptional work managing both people and systems.  Alex was one of a handful of candidates selected for the American Red Cross’s Leadership Education and Development program in which high-performing leaders participated in a two-year development program focused on securing the next senior leaders of the organization.  Additionally, he was recognized as a Presidential Award for Excellence nominee for “Revitalizing the Brand” enhancing the Red Cross mission.

In his first years as the Chief Operating Officer for the Central and South Texas region, Alex introduced various program and initiatives to increase the level of employee engagement that resulted in a 23% increase in employee-workplace satisfaction.  Aside from his assigned duties, Alex serves on the Steering Committee of the Latino Resource Group, which specialized in implementing engagement programs for Latino staff members, volunteers, and clients.

Alex’s reputation extends beyond the American Red Cross.  In 2013 he was the recipient of the “Top 40 Under 40 Award” for outstanding service in the private and public sectors of Central California. Much of Alex’s professional efforts have focused on supporting community development with professional roles supporting local business initiatives.

Alex’s ability to empower and elevate those around him to find success is evident in the success found with his current team of directors, and through the opportunities allotted to him, he will continue supporting community advancements.
