Global Possibilities – Live Event August 2013
The anticipation for the Live Event this August reached unprecedented heights as John Maxwell Team members from all over the world began to prepare to travel to Orlando in August 2013. A murmur became a rumble and then a Roar as the crowds converged in high excitement at the Marriott World Center on August 9th.
New members eager to meet each other for the first time and earlier members all looking forward to reconnect and see old friends again and make new ones, milled around the central registration area. The lobby was simply buzzing with the happy sounds of friends meeting friends. Facebook is a wonderful platform for forming connections, but until we meet face to face we don’t understand the full power of True Connection!

The event did not disappoint…Right from the High Energy dancing, the Reunion Party, the banquets and the gifts and the many, many thoughtful gestures, the superbly -organized event left no stone unturned to deliver an unparalleled User Experience of delight and phenomenal over delivery on promises made.
John was in his characteristic humorous element, and taught some outstanding lessons on the 3G Leader and was tireless in his willingness to serve the team with answers to their questions, filming Minutes with Maxwell and posing for endless pictures with his team members.
He also taught some outstanding Leadership Lessons, accompanied by a frame by frame replay of the Lincoln movie at a special screening for those in the mentorship Program.
The event was peppered with High intensive learning workshops conducted by our esteemed faculty combining education with experiential learning exercises and the unmistakeable hallmark of John Maxwell Team Events…entertainment!
Sunday Morning started with a special optional worship service conducted by John and his inimitable father Melvin Maxwell and a lesson on Attitude…it was no surprise that no one in our secular audience risked missing it!
And on the final day, Nick Vujicic captured hearts with his sensitive, authentic presence and sharing of his story. Nobody was with a dry eye in the audience as he kept us moved and entertained at the same time. No mean feat!
Les Brown and Ona Brown regaled the audience with anecdotes and masterful delivery with their characteristic charm and skill! Les delivered a fiery motivational speech that got the Team to their feet in a standing ovation!
The theme for the event was Global Possibilities and returning mentees were honoured with a globe with their names inscribed on it on the floor and high quality globe paperweights to take home as a souvenir! And as we return, each to our own state or country, we take with us memories of how John has galvanized us to not only think about making a difference to our own countries, but to consider making a difference on a global scale!
Great job capturing the spirit of the Live Event this August. I have to say that the teaching John did on the Lincoln movie and the difference between good and great leaders was amazing. I took away so much. The other thing makes these events so powerful is the chance to share expertise and experiences with all the JMT members attending the event. I will definitely attend the February 2014 event.

Well said! For me, the August Live Event was educational, inspirational, trasformational, loads of excitment and fun.
As a first timer, I did not feel strange at all! The greeting were all warm and welcoming. The Reception Desk was well manned, you guys Rock!!
When John said “l give you my Legacy”, oh my goodness, I was tearful, and I know the whole room were down to tears. I was blown away!
The Faculty Team were remarkable in their presentation, they were all well received.
I was at an awesome Table 10, love you guys! The sharing was phenomenal! I brought back so much knowledge, its awe-inspiring!
The Motvational Speakers, Melvin Maxwell, Nick Vujicic, Les Brown and Ona Brown, have all helped me to look deeper inside!

It was a great event Joyce. Thanks for sharing the journey! Spending half a day going through the movie “Lincoln” was one of the many highlights right along with spending time with Nick Vujicic. What an incredible opportunity for us!
It certainly was Barry..in fact Lincoln has been one of my childhood heroes and so it was a very great pleasure not only watching the movie, but to have a legend in his lifetime, John Maxwell himself, take us through the movie and pause and have us all reflect on each Leadership lesson!
