Real Stories, Real Success:
Finding the People and Resources to Grow
Heather Manzano has been a part of the John Maxwell Team since August of 2014, and she truly doesn’t recognize the Heather that she was before she started!
When it came up, Heather talked herself out of joining the Team because of the expense. At its core, she knows now, the issue was that she didn’t believe in herself enough to invest the money in her own growth.
So, she asked her employer to sponsor her, and, when they did, her intention was simply to use the material within her organization.
As time went on and she experienced incredible growth through the John Maxwell Team, she started to believe in herself enough to make the transition from that corporate job into owning her own business, adding value to other individuals and organizations by focusing on corporate culture, communication, and employee development.
For Heather, the true fuel for her transformation has been the connections she has made with the faculty. “Having access to…the faculty has enabled me to create results I wouldn’t have been able to otherwise,” she says.
It was John Maxwell’s Intentional Living that sparked her desire to grow and got her started.
It was Paul Martinelli’s teaching on limiting beliefs and facing fears that gave her the courage to follow through on her dreams and to start on her journey in her own business.
It was Christian Simpson’s training on coaching that allowed her to listen to and find the needs of her clients.
It was Roddy Galbraith’s teaching on speaking that helped her gain the confidence to stand up and talk in front of any group of people she encounters during a meeting, training or keynote.
It was Mark Cole’s deep-dives into leadership principles that allowed her to add deeper value to clients ready to go to the next level.
It was Chris Robinson’s sales training that gave her the direction she needed to get in front of clients and expand her client base.
Her connections with the faculty have helped her in so many ways, but one in particular that stands out to her was an invitation she received to speak to six CEOs. The faculty helped walk her through and prepare her for this speech, which went so well she ended up being approached by two of them to work together individually.
The faculty then continued to walk with her as she submitted a proposal and landed both contracts!
“I truly would not have my own business or be living my dream without the support of the John Maxwell Team,” Heather believes. “It is this same amazing group of resources that allows me to walk into ANY business, no matter how large or small, and say with confidence that I am fully resourced to meet any of their developmental needs!”
