Guatemala: Transforming National Leadership
What does it take to bring about Transformation in a country?
For years Guatemala has been silently suffering at the hands of those in Power with a long history of civil war, crime, oppression, scarcity, natural disasters and monumental neglect. Without any heroes stepping up to fight for justice, there comes a time when people simply give up and accept as reality their status as victims of the daily atrocities of life.
Now is the time for Transformation!
Now, the people of Guatemala are ready to unite to fight for the Well being and Progress of their nation.
John Maxwell’s Journey to help Guatemala began roughly a year ago. And after his recent visit to Guatemala, he has gained the trust, hearts and support of the highest Influencers in the country including the government, top industrialists and even the Head of the Ancient Mayans.
Guatemala has declared June 12th, 2013 as a National Transformation Day for the whole country. And for the first time all three Pillars of the John Maxwell Brand EQUIP, the John Maxwell Company, and the John Maxwell Team, together with Guatemala Próspera, will unite to go on a historical mission to serve the people of Guatemala.
Where should leadership begin?
Where has trust between the leaders and their followers been broken?
And how do we begin to rebuild it?
We can point fingers all we want at those in charge – at the government, at companies, at the educational system, the community, and at our religious leaders.
But at the end of the day the sole responsibility is to begin the Transformation within each individual.
As Gandhi famously said: Be the Change you wish to see in the World
As each person changes, the people in their environment also begin to change and one by one there is a ripple tide of change in the family, the community, the church, the city, country and the world.
Oftentimes Transformation does not begin in a comfortable, complacent environment.
However in circumstances of strife, turmoil and challenge, a brave leader will step up and rise to the occasion through courage, character, and a heart to serve others. The conditions are ripe for change in Guatemala!
The John Maxwell Team will lead the charge to make a difference by igniting leadership into the hearts of a willing country.
We will have the opportunity to listen, learn, and lead from our hearts and change Guatemala for many years to come.
- It began with a 2400 mile relay from Atlanta, Georgia to Guatemala City, with over a 100 days of walking recorded as of date and scheduled to end in the stadium in Guatemala on June 12th, 2013.
- Working with Spanish speaking translators, several leaders from all walks of life have volunteered to serve Guatemala and will be teaching Values Driven Leadership to around 20,000 influencers from the 7 key streams of influence in any society (Business, Government, Education, Media and Entertainment, LawEnforcement, Church and Community) over a three day period
- The country will then have to come together on an even playing field to find radical solutions to improve their systems in Education, community, Government, Healthcare, Law enforcement and Agriculture
Everything rises and falls on Leadership!
The Nation will grow from the seeds we are planting and we can all triumphantly unite to cry Victory!
