Finding Purpose

After 40 years of marriage and raising three children, Wendy wanted to continue to make an impact on the world by empowering others. She was a longtime reader of John Maxwell’s books and she loved to watch his Minute With Maxwell videos.

“John’s values and teachings resonated with my heart.”

Wendy has always wanted to teach others how to lead lives of significance. “Everyone can be significant,” she says. “I wanted to empower and equip others to walk in their own purpose.”

So, when she heard about the John Maxwell Team, she was interested in joining, but she couldn’t get past the feeling that it wasn’t for her. Sure, she wanted to continue to grow her leadership skills, but she struggled with believing that she wouldn’t belong in the community. She worried that she just wouldn’t fit in!

All of that changed when Wendy picked up the phone. “Once I completed that interview with a program coordinator, I knew that I’d come home.” She joined the John Maxwell Team in November of 2013 and immediately found that the team was more than a community, it was a family. “Each person is cared for and encouraged, even on a personal level, to be their very best.”

As she began building relationships with the people in the program, she discovered that she had more to offer than she previously believed. “The JMT gave me the power to be who I am, to tell my story, to truly walk in my purpose. They called to the ‘gold’ inside of me. Now I am a true woman of significance.”

Today, Wendy continues to bring her message of empowerment to her clients, family, and friends. Her mission is to teach anyone and everyone how intentional living is the key to leading a life of significance. “Make it your journey,” she says. “It’s not someone else’s. What you do must be right for you, your purpose.”

Like Wendy, you too can find your purpose by joining the John Maxwell Team global community and family.
